Sighs of relief

Good news, the skin cancer my mom had removed was one of the better kinds to have.  Basal cell, although there were still cells in the margin, which preferably would have been clear.  But the doctor will continue to monitor it once a month for a while, and if anything does show up, the scalp should have regained enough elasticity to allow for more removal.  He said basal cell typically doesn’t spread, which was wonderful news to have.

More good news – the sweater finally works!  Every third row did the trick, so now I am on to finish the body.  Huzzah!  Sock knitting may even resume shortly.

It’s all pants – yet again

The spot my mom had taken off her scalp did not turn out to be what we hoped it would be.  We were hoping for nothing.  It wasn’t ‘nothing’.  :(  Too early for any details, so maybe it will be a case of them getting everything and no further action necessary.  I would appreciate any good thoughts along those lines.

Okay, now that I’ve been a downer, let me redeem myself.

This glorious object was brought to me by my sweetheart.

And the progress on knitting has slowed considerably.  I’m not sure why, but these socks have almost reached a standstill, even though I’m still working on them.

Tomorrow I may get more accomplished, as it is our bi-annual visit to the dentist.  Good timing to have the appointment before the Halloween candy season.

Better late than never

This progress was largely due to the wait time for my mom’s surgical procedure.  The doc said it went well, and the pathology report will be back on Wed afternoon.

My alarm went off a mere half an hour earlier than normal, but oof, did it wipe me out.  I just wanted to get home and sleep.  And I did, taking not one, but two naps this afternoon.

Since I’m using this blog mostly as a memory jog, they started combining the beans today.  Just in case I need to know this at some future point.
