Hmmm, seems I’m overdue for a post.
I had all these great plans to post over winter break, but we barely had time to turn around. Trips to both families, plus a deer season at my mom’s, and the next thing you knew, it was time to go back to work.
Then with the semester starting tomorrow, work has been insane with everyone sending registrations at the last minute and demanding to be enrolled RIGHT NOW!!! Yes, you and 300 other people are just discovering there’s a spring semester, like there has been since – oh, 1801 – and there are four of us. Patience is a virtue, folks, patience is a virtue.
I still don’t know if I’m going to have to do more on my degree or not. I’ve held off emailing my advisor, because I know he is covered under in work as much as I am, and it doesn’t do well to annoy the person determining your stuff. It typically wins you a spot on the bottom of the pile. Still, I haven’t bugged him about it before, so maybe I can send a gentle inquiry. It’s hanging over my head, and I really hope my efforts have been enough for it to be done. I know I should be interested in personal and academic enlightenment, but I just want to be done with it.
But, even when the degree is done, I’m not done learning yet. I’m working on a database certificate. For fun. Yes, some people dream of being famous, I dream of being a database administrator. After the independent wealth dream, of course. I’ll be taking a Database Management/SQL class this term. Whee! Yeah, I know. Geek. :) I yam what I yam.
So, as you may have been able to see on the Flickr feed, I have been knitting and spinning. Today, I’ve been adding some of the fiber stash to Ravelry. It helps to have everything in one spot, so you can see what you have, and realize that you really don’t need any more. Well, you know. I would like to try to make it to Greencastle time without adding anything to the stash, but I’m not swearing anything off.
Anyhoo, here’s what I’ve been working on:
I’m also still working on the Hayrick Socks, but I don’t have an updated progress shot.
And I spun up some corridale fiber purchased at the Greencastle Fiber Event long ago and far away, well before I figured out I don’t like corridale. Bleh. However, it will be fine for a hat, and that’s just what I am doing.
One fiber I have figured out I do like very much is falkland.
Okay, that’s about all the news fit to print. If I hear anything regarding the degree, I’ll announce here. In case you miss the scream of joy.
